Let Me Introduce Myself

Hi, I am Sarah Flower, a Medical Herbalist, based in Brighton, UK.  Having suffered from insomnia, I know only too well how it feels to be tired, day after day.  

Insomnia affects you at work and leaves you with no energy to enjoy quality time with friends and family.  Despite being exhausted when you go to bed, your busy mind keeps you awake.  With a lack of sleep, you feel exhausted the next day.

After running a drop-in herbal apothecary for 8 years, I have plenty of experience helping people with sleep problems and stress.

There is usually a core issue that causes insomnia.  Other factors, such as sleep hygiene and diet, can also disrupt sleep.  Both the core issue and these other factors need to shift.

I use herbal remedies to help with relaxation and sleep alongside health coaching.  We work together to resolve dietary and lifestyle habits that are causing problems.

So, Why Can’t You Sleep?

Difficulty falling asleep at bedtime is usually because of anxiety or stress.  Waking during the night and being unable to fall back to sleep is often due to anxiety, stress, or depression.  If you have been struggling with sleep issues for some time, you may have also developed anxiety about going to sleep.  This makes the situation even worse.

Sleep remedies, herbal supplements, vitamins, and minerals can all be helpful.  If you have tried these, you may have noticed that while they may be helpful, they do not resolve the issue in the longer term.

Our modern lifestyles are far removed from the natural rhythms that we evolved to live.  This has affected our stress levels, our diet, and how well we sleep.  Multiple lifestyle factors, including alcohol, mobile phone use, and the bedroom environment, also directly impact our sleep.

A good diet is essential for providing the nutrients for good mental health and promoting healthy gut bacteria.  These gut bacteria are now known to affect stress hormones and mental health.  Additionally, stress adversely affects our gut bacteria. 

A more holistic approach that addresses all of these factors is needed.

During the Better Sleep package, we focus on reducing the effects of stress.  We make essential changes to your sleep routine, diet, and other lifestyle factors.  These are incremental changes that are sustainable for you in the long term.  

I use herbal remedies based on their traditional uses.  A bespoke herbal blend is created to support you with relaxation, promotion of natural sleep, and improving digestion.

Who is the Better Sleep Package for?

The Better Sleep package is for you if you experience sleep problems due to mental tension and stress.  Besides sleep problems, you are likely to often feel tense or irritable.  You may find it hard to relax.

Your sleep difficulties will have been ongoing for at least a few weeks.  The daily fatigue may have started to affect your work or social life.

Please note that this package is not for physical causes of insomnia, such as pain, restless leg syndrome, or urinary issues.

Initial 90-minute online consultation

Fortnightly 30-minute online consultation

Manageable targets for you to put in place between appointments

Focus on sleep hygiene, relaxation, diet, and other lifestyle factors

Weekday email support from 10am until 5pm

How Much Does it Cost?

The fee for this package is £450.

Payment is due in advance and can be split into 2 equal installments.

After the end of the programme, you can continue taking the herbs if you wish.  You may also decide to have further appointments that are usually on a monthly basis.
