About Herbal Medicine

What is Herbal Medicine?

Herbal Medicine (herbalism) is the use of plants as medicines. It is one of the oldest forms of medicine and is widely practiced across the globe. There are many different types of herbal tradition from local folk medicine to more familiar systems such as Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Nearly 3/4 of the global population use plant remedies as their primary form of healthcare.

I practice Western Herbal Medicine and I am based in Brighton.  Treatment is highly individualised and seeks to address the root causes of illness and to restore harmony and balance to optimise overall health and wellbeing. Herbal remedies are used alongside dietary and lifestyle changes to gently support and improve health.
